Here's a description of what promises to be an outstanding concert:
Saturday, Feb. 2, 7:30-9 p.m.
Fine Arts Building, Room 150 (Recital Hall)
Mari Hahn, associate professor of music, presents a concert of art songs, opera and poetry. Together with pianist and conductor Richard Gordon, Hahn will perform works by Richard Strauss, Alban Berg, Ned Rorem, Franz Schubert and Claude Debussy.
Libby Roderick, associate director of CAFE, will be reciting poetry by Theodor Roethke, Rainer Maria Rilke, Jane Hirshfield and Sara Teasdale. Other guest artists include Stasia Jamieson and UAA graduate Jenna Hutchins.
